"Oh the sun will come out tomorrow..."


Offense was #1 in pass efficiency, #5 in scoring offense and #5 in sacks allowed.  Special Team were #1 in kickoff returns and a putrid 78 in punt returns.  Defensively they are missing Mike Stoops and Bo Pellini.  Defense was 59th in pass defense and 43rd in pass efficiency defense.  This team also has the longest BCS bowl losing streak in the world.  Say hello to the Oklahoma Sooners.

2007 Season: 11-3, 6-2 Conf

2008 Season: 11-1, 7-1

Highlights: Four future pros on the offensive line doesn't hurt the sooners who also have solid receivers, running backs, awesome Qb and tight end.  Another highlight is that they flushed the secondary (unfortunately bjw didn't go with them) and they have some new blood to work with.

Lowlights:    Tough question for me.   The secondary and special teams are OU's Achilles heal.   Since Bobby Jack Wright took over the Sooners haven't been ranked in the top 20 in passing defense.  Special teams are hot and cold.  Sooners also have not really been impressive with the D line pressure.  For those of you who have heard that good coordinators get opportunities as head coaches, it's true.  And that's why we still have Vulnerables.

Keys to Success:   Secondary and Special teams. 

Aug. 30 Chattanooga - W I'll be getting together my college Intramural team to play the 2nd half .  Good times. 
Sept. 6 Cincinnati - W This one is scary.  Not as easy as it looks. 
Sept. 13 @ Washington - W Willingham is a great coach and this game scares me, but it's a tough road win.
Sept. 27 TCU - W Sooners take down the vicious horned frogs
Oct. 4 @ Baylor - W Wake me up for a Fleshers Corn Dog
Oct. 11 vs. Texas - W I cheered for texas against USC and had to take a shower when it was done.  I hate those sob's.  We could lose every other game and beat them and I'm ok. 
Oct. 18 Kansas - W
Oct. 25 @ Kansas State - L The Sooners will inexplicably lose one stupid road game.  This is it.
Nov. 1 Nebraska - W
Nov. 8 @ Texas A&M - W
Nov. 22 Texas Tech - W
Nov. 29 @ Oklahoma State  - W
