Breaking Down the Big 12 - Oklahoma State Cowboys
15 days until Baylor puts it on Wake Forest.
If this team were a woman she would be “Anna Nichole Smith. Married to famous oil billionaire. Famous outbursts, one in reality and one on reality TV. One hopes their future plays out a little differently."Shamelessly stolen from http://thecollegefootballguys.blogspot.com/2008/07/our-favorite-women-and-big-12.html
Seventh in total offense last year in the NCAA, eighth in rushing offense and third in sacks allowed. 101st in total defense and 112th in pass defense last year. I'm probably drinking too much of the poor aggie "this is the year" koolaid by the way. This team has more personalities than people who attend their games. Ladies and Gents, I give you......
The Oklahoma State Cowboys
2007 Season: 7-6, 4-4 Conf
2008 Season: 8-4, 5-3
Highlights: Six Juco starters on the defensive side of the ball could help. The returners on the D line are going to be key to success as well in pressuring the QB. They have a solid 2 deep offensive line. And Zac Robinson is a good QB.
Lowlights: Can they get the defense to play above it's head? I think they have the strength in the box, but I'm not convinced that they made any significant movement on the DB front. Their Secondary is going to look like it's coached by Bobby Jack.
Keys to Success: Cover someone...anyone. And find a running back to replace Savage's production from last year.
Aug. 30 @ Washington State - L This is going to be a track meet at Wasu. Last team with the ball wins. On the road I give it to WSU who was ranked # 8 in pass offense last year.

When I was a kid I grew up in NW Oklahoma. True osu aggie land. One day I wore an OU jersey to school and my teacher (OSU grad) says to me "Son, why are you an Oklahoma fan?" I answer "Well, My dad's a Sooner, my Grandpa's a Sooner and therefor I'm a Sooner." So my teacher thinks he's real smart and says "Well if you dad was retarded and your grandpa was retarded, then what would that make you?" He was really satisfied with himself until he turned around to sit down at his desk and I said "Well sir, I guess that would make me an OSU cowboy (or Jim Traber pick your punchline. I like the Trab-enator so I'll go with cowboy)."
Out!
