Breaking Down the Big 12 - Texas A&M

With a Bobby Jack-esque 99th ranking in Pass Defense and 91st in pass efficiency and 104th in Sacks to match their top 20 rushing defense, I give you the new look Aggies.

The Texas A&M Aggies

2007 Season: 7-6, 4-4 Conf

2008 Season:  6-6, 3-5 Conf

Highlights: The Aggies have that new car smell this year.   They return the soul of their offense in McGee, Lane and Goodson.  They are going to get the ball to Goodson more which should make Big 12 D coordinators scared.

Lowlights:  Only one returning starter on that O line that led that top 20 rushing attack from last year.  Their entire secondary returns from last year.  Normally a highlight, but as you see above "they sucked."

Keys to Success:   Can they improve their passing game without gutting their team and abandoning their dominant rushing attack?  Can they avoid a QB controversy and keep Baby Huey Lane from pouting about his touches on the side line?  Can they shore up the putrid defensive line and DB situation?  I think not, but if so, maybe a game or two improved on this:

Aug. 30 Arkansas State - W
Sept. 6 @ New Mexico - W
Sept. 20 Miami - L
Sept. 27 Army  - W
Oct. 4 @ Oklahoma State - L
Oct. 11 Kansas State - L
Oct. 18 Texas Tech - L
Oct. 25 @ Iowa State - W
Nov. 1 Colorado - W
Nov. 8 Oklahoma - L
Nov. 15 @ Baylor - W
Nov. 27 @ Texas - L

Getting rid of Fran and getting a better attitude, I expect that the Aggies do better than that in the end.
